Bridging growers and consumers
Farmind will continue supporting fruits and vegetables into the future
Farmind was named by combining “farm” and “mind.” Under our corporate philosophy of Bridging growers and consumers, since our foundation we have developed our businesses with the mission of safely and securely delivering fruits and vegetables grown affectionately by growers, together with the mindfulness (mind) of the growers, in fresh and delicious condition to customers.
The foundation that supports our businesses is a full range of fresh produce distribution platforms centered on cold chain and information networks that bring production areas throughout the world and Japan and consumers together. Through our processing and distribution centers in 14 locations nationwide seamlessly connected with marine transportation and land transportation, we realize high-quality and efficient fresh produce distribution while managing temperatures and securing accurate information with our uniquely developed IT system.
By earnestly expanding our production business and rebuilding the agricultural business model, we are also putting effort into revitalizing domestic agriculture. We will utilize our knowledge of broccoli production, which has realized stable profits through large-scale and relay production, into a wide range of fruits and vegetables and proceed with the building of an efficient and sustainable agricultural business model. I also believe that stably securing imported fruits and vegetables is important. In addition to expanding and improving our global procurement network, we will also proceed with enhancing our own supply system, such as starting banana production in the Philippines.
Japan is directly facing the issue of food security. The food self-sufficiency rate has dropped to the cautionary zone, and the number of growers has been decreasing rapidly due to aging. Farmind reduces food loss and waste through our full range of fresh produce distribution platforms and realizes the stable supply of high-quality fresh produce. Furthermore, we will proceed with revitalizing agriculture by rebuilding the domestic agricultural business model and enhancing our capability for procurement from overseas. Through these initiatives, we will not only grow our group but will also create new social value by providing solutions to the issue of food security.

We will flexibly respond to environmental changes and continue to stably provide fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables
Since its foundation, Farmind has specialized in fruits and vegetables and enhanced a consistent value chain from production/procurement to transportation, storage, processing, and delivery to customers. Today, we have become a unique corporate group with a cold chain logistics network suitable for fruits and vegetables throughout Japan and closed networks with a number of sales locations and suppliers. We will make full use of these foundations going forward to expand and enhance our businesses without stopping.
The field of imported fruits and vegetables is a business we are paying particular attention to, and we will put effort into expanding the products we handle, diversifying our suppliers, expanding our production capacity and further enhancing our stable supply system. In the field of domestic fruits and vegetables, we will expand production at our own farms using the business model that made us one of the largest growers of broccoli in Japan, and expand our businesses by putting effort into expanding our partner farms and developing our brand products, while striving to address social issues, such as maintaining production bases in Japan and increasing farmers’ net income. Furthermore, in the field of logistics, which supports the procurement and sales of these products, we will provide our cold chain function that uses a land transportation network covering all of Japan and processing and distribution centers in each place to other companies as an efficient logistics service and strive to expand the quantity we handle and enhance our competitiveness. In international trade, we will put effort into expanding the transportation capacity of our reefer ships and strive to stably secure the procurement routes of bananas and kiwifruit, etc. for Japan.
We will continue to focus on these areas while flexibly responding to the environmental changes surrounding our businesses, and we promise to continue our efforts to bridging growers and consumers going forward and stably deliver fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables.
